Yes we all love to play games, build PC’s and so on BUT the price must be reasonable and affordable. The performance must be great and smooth. Therefore, after many research and calculations we came up with the best budget PC build just under RM 1000 for max performance and value for money.
Here we go :
What do we need for this Budget PC Build
- CPU ( central processing unit )
- GPU ( graphics card )
- RAM ( DDR4 )
- Storage ( SSD )
- Motherboard (A320)
- PSU ( Power Supply )
- PC Case – MATX
- Should you buy a pre-build pc instead?
CPU – Central Processing Unit
I have decided to go with the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G, the reason mainly being because of the budget PC build and also this CPU is a very reliable CPU when it comes to gaming. We have been using this CPU alot and it have never given us a problem when it come to light gaming and heavy duty word load.
Pros | Cons |
Not Expensive | No Multithreading |
Excellent Built in Graphics Vega 8 | Vega 8 is weaker than Vega 11(Ryzen 5) |
GPU – Graphics Card
For this budget PC build, the Graphics card wont be needed. As, we will be focusing on keeping it below RM 1000.
However, if after some time you feel like upgrading your setup, we will recommend you to get a new graphics card instead of an old graphics card. Reason for that is, you do not know what happened to the old graphics card. Whether the previous owner had used it for mining or was it used in a cyber cafe running 24/7. So if possible please get a new one.
In 2023, we recommend getting a new GTX1650 if budget is your concern or a new RX580 from shopee for just RM 349.
Comparison :
In a nutshell, RX580 does perform better. But if you were to get the old one there will not be guarantee this is going to be accurate.
RAM – DDR4
We recommend getting the HyperX Kingston Fury Beast 8GB 3200Mhx. Which will give you a total of 8GB , enough to run most applications and games at the same time. All modern games will do fine with 8GB of RAM but if there is a need, upgrading to 16GB of RAM is definitely better. This will be the perfect RAM for budget PC build.
Storage – SSD
We prefer to use SSD for faster boot and gaming experience, even though a 256GB ssd is considered small but it can already run games such as valorant, league of legends, Dota 2 and CS:GO without a problem.
When starting, a smaller and more affordable SSD is preferred and can slowly upgrade storage by adding HDD instead for better performance for value. Using a smaller SSD will suit the budget PC build but if we were to upgrade to a 1TB HDD it will also still suit our budget PC build.
Our recommended SSD is the
Motherboard – A320 AM4

For the same price we will choose MSI A320M ✅instead of ASUS Prime, the reason being MSI can support up to 32GB more ram compared to the ASUS. In modern days gaming, when our computer is slow or can’t play new games, one solution is to up the RAM. Where this MSI A320M motherboard allows you at the price of a budget PC build.
PSU – Power Supply
Power supply is a crucial component of the PC, it determines how energy efficient it is and how safe it is. We always recommend to go for 80plus graded power supply. Preferably at least 80+ Bronze.
For this budget PC build we will only need 500W power supply, but if we were to get 550W it will be more future proof when we upgrade to another graphics card. We recommend to go for trustable brands too, For Example like this Corsair CV series 80+ Bronze
PC Case – MATX
We recommend to go for a more budgetable yet good looking PC Case that has white or black choice and also those RGB Fan coolers. The PC Case is very important to be able to fit your motherboard.
We also recommend brands such as Segotep or other reliable brands too.

Should you buy a pre-build pc instead?
We get this question a lot, the answer depends on the situation, if you can get a better deal off the same price then yes if the prebuilt is more expensive then no. There are some instances where pre-built sellers want to clear stock, and there will be discounts that make it cheaper than building it on your own. However, if you do not want to build on your own then here is a great prebuilt :
Shopee Is always filled with custom pre build based on your own choices and specs.
What can we do with gaming PC’s ?
For a budget PC build, we can actually use it to set-up a small ESports Hub or other words a cyber cafe.
